Already recording with Veo? Make the footage count.

Veo films the match. Sidetalk keeps what you said about it — and puts both on the same clock, so you can jump to the 23rd minute in the footage and read exactly what you shouted there.

What Veo does well

Put it on a pole, press record, walk away. The camera covers the whole pitch with onboard AI following the action, so nobody has to stand behind a tripod for ninety minutes and no parent has to be talked into filming. For a club that previously had no footage at all, that is a genuine step change.

None of what follows is a criticism of the camera. It is about the part that was never the camera’s job.

Where coaches get stuck

The footage exists. A few clips get shared. And the same three mistakes show up again next weekend.

The reason is not the video. It is that the thing which would actually change a player — you, saying one specific sentence to them about one specific moment — happened live on the touchline and was never written down. By the time you sit down with the match on Sunday evening, you are reconstructing your own coaching from a wide shot.

How Sidetalk fits into a Veo week

  1. Saturday — press record on both. The Veo goes on the pole as usual. Your phone goes in your pocket. You coach the way you always do; tap a player’s name while you talk if you want the attribution nailed down, or do not bother and let Sidetalk work it out.
  2. Still at the ground — read the feedback. Individual feedback for every player in the squad, ready in about a minute. You read it through, change anything that is off, and send. Nothing goes to a player until you have seen it.
  3. Sunday — tie the two together, once. Paste your Veo match link into the session and give Sidetalk one number. Because Veo stamps its recordings with a start time, the quickest way is simply to type what time the camera started — you do not have to open the video at all. If you would rather, scrub to kick-off and type the time the player shows instead.
  4. From then on, both show the same times. Every note you made now carries the video’s own timestamp. Filter the timeline to one player and see only what you said about them. Or start "play along" as you press play, and the timeline scrolls itself alongside the match.

Veo alone, and Veo with Sidetalk

The comparison that matters here is with and without — not one against the other.

Why there is nothing to integrate

People expect this to need an integration, an API key, or a re-upload. It needs none of those, because the sync is arithmetic rather than a file transfer. Both clocks ran over the same match, so one known moment ties them together and everything else follows.

That has a practical consequence worth stating plainly: your footage never leaves Veo, and nothing about your Veo account is touched. Sidetalk stores a link and a number.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to cancel my Veo subscription?
No. Sidetalk cannot record a match and is not trying to. If you cancelled Veo you would lose the footage and keep only the notes, which is the wrong half.
Does this work with Veo Cam 3, Veo Cam 3 5G and Veo Go?
Yes, and with anything else that produces a video with a link and a start time. Sidetalk never touches the camera or the file — it only needs to know when the recording began, so the hardware makes no difference.
Do I have to re-upload my matches?
No. There is nowhere to upload them to. Sidetalk stores the link to your Veo match page and a single time offset.
Does it work with Veo Live?
The sync needs a recording with a known start time and a URL you can open afterwards, which a livestreamed match still has once it is saved. It is the saved match you would link to, not the live stream itself.
How long does the sync take to set up?
One number, once per match. If you read the start time off the Veo recording you do not have to watch anything.
Is Sidetalk affiliated with Veo?
No. Sidetalk is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or partnered with Veo Technologies. Veo is named here because a lot of the coaches we build for already use one.
